About the Artist

I have been designing dolls and cloth doll patterns for about 20 years and sewing for about 40 years.  However, I am not just a doll designer—I also collect dolls and I have a large collection that I display in every corner of my home.

When I design and make my dolls I give the same attention to detail that I look for when I decide to add a doll to my private collection. Details like using high quality materials, lining skirts so that no seams are showing, hand-sewing instead of using glue are all important to me. All of my dolls that are made using gesso, paint or modeling paste are allowed to adequately dry in between coats. I will never rush to get my dolls done—I want them to be an heirloom that you will be proud to add to your collection. It is important to note that all dolls are made entirely by me—I do not sub-contract.

One of my pet peeves is that many people do not realize the difference between one-of-a-kind, uniquely dressed and limited edition. You can be sure that all of my dolls marked one-of-a-kind dolls are just that. I do not make a pattern for my one-of-a-kind dolls then redress, use a different wig and call it a one-of-a-kind once again. If a doll is made from the same pattern with just different color of hair, eyes and type of clothing, etc. that would make each doll a uniquely dressed doll. A limited edition is a doll that has a stated number made from the same pattern or mold. And a limited edition is not 10,000 dolls, but should be 25 or less.

Although dollmaking is my first love, I have also started creating general sewing patterns to sell on my website.  Lately, I have become interested in penny rugs and candle mats sewn using wool felt and the buttonhole stitch.  My first pattern using this method of sewing was my Hello Spring! pattern to sew a napkin holder, wine glass slipper and matching silverware holder.

I hope that you enjoy your visit and will bookmark our site so that you can visit often. If you have any questions either about our site or just need doll-related information in general, please feel free to email me. I answer each email I receive and will try to help as much as possible.
